Jessey Dearing

Jessey Dearing recently completed a photo internship at The Boston Globe and earned a bachelor’s degree in photojournalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2011.

While at UNC, he participated in documentary projects including the 2010 Powering a Nation project as well as the 2009 Carolina Photojournalism Workshop Being Asheville and the international documentary project Living Galápagos. He also has a two-year degree in photography from Randolph Community College, where he interned at The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and The Charleston Post & Courier. In his spare time he is working on a documentary film, Spilling Over, focusing on the damaging effects of the BP oil spill on a family in Venice, Louisiana.
