By many accounts, women and girls in Congo are suffering and face enormous obstacles to building a better future. Despite this, Congolese women do not define themselves as victims.

With high rates of rape and domestic violence, the Democratic Republic of Congo has been called one of the worst places in the world to be a woman. By many accounts, women and girls in Congo are suffering and face enormous obstacles to building a better future. Despite this, Congolese women do not define themselves as victims.
