DOCUMENTARY SHORT

AMERICAN DESTINY

By 2045, the United States is projected to become a majority-minority country.

In the week leading up to Election Day, the Talking Eyes team headed to Norcross, Georgia – the most diverse city in one of Georgia’s most diverse counties. In just a decade, the town had transitioned from majority white to minority white thanks to a growing LatinX population. These new realities indicate a major political shift, splitting a historically red county down the middle and turning it purple. In the days leading up to November 3rd, we followed five locals from different political, religious and ethnic backgrounds to get a ground level view of this microcosm of our politically divided nation, whose citizens are fighting to find common ground.

In December 2020, American Destiny was published in TIME magazine.

Running Time: 11 Minutes
