Celina Alvarez has addressed the high turnover rate for homeless service providers by recognizing the toll this work takes. Through her efforts, Housing Works of Los Angeles now offers wellness sessions, mental health support and and ongoing training for staff members. Alvarez has also developed the first certifcate program in California for people entering the field.
